We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled BSL Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team of professionals. Your role will be crucial in helping students with hearing impairments access the curriculum and develop their communication, social, and academic skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teaching and learning of deaf students, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging learning environment.
  • Using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with students, helping them understand lessons and instructions.
  • Assisting in both classroom and extracurricular activities, promoting an inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborating with teachers to deliver differentiated support that meets individual learning needs.

The successful BSL Teaching Assistant will have:

  • British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification or above (essential).
  • Experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing children and young people in an educational setting.
  • A passion for supporting the academic and personal development of students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
