About the Role:
Claire at Amber Mace is recruiting for an experienced and passionate Care Manager to join a small, well-established residential home with nursing in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience in dementia care and will be responsible for supporting the home manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care are maintained for all residents.
As the Care Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the care team, managing staff, and ensuring that the home complies with all relevant regulations and standards. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for residents, particularly those living with dementia, and ensure they receive the highest quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the overall management and operations of the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in line with CQC regulations.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of care staff. Provide training, mentoring, and performance reviews to ensure the team meets the required standards.
• Ensure the delivery of person-centred care for all residents, with a focus on those living with dementia. Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and monitoring of individual needs.
• Ensure the home adheres to all CQC standards, health and safety regulations, and internal policies. Conduct audits and support the manager in preparing for inspections.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with residents' families, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and guidance in dementia care, ensuring staff are trained and equipped to manage the unique challenges of residents with dementia.
• Assist with managing budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services while maintaining high-quality care.
• Oversee shifts, ensuring staffing levels are adequate and appropriate, and manage any incidents or emergencies effectively.
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC PIN (or equivalent qualification).
• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a residential home with nursing.
• Dementia care experience is essential, with an in-depth understanding of the needs and challenges of individuals with dementia.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
• Comprehensive knowledge of CQC regulations and experience in maintaining compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.
• A passionate and empathetic approach to providing care for vulnerable individuals.
