Software Engineer -PHP, Remote

Are you an experienced Software Engineer looking for your next challenge? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where your skills can make a significant impact? If so, we want you to join my clients Development team for a 9-month fixed-term contract.

Core Purpose:This position is crucial to the success of the organisation as you will play a pivotal role in developing our new centralised software. Your expertise will help streamline business operations and enhance their service delivery.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and test high-quality software applications using PHP and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements, delivering solutions that meet business needs.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practises.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of our development processes.

Your Team:You'll work closely with a talented Development Team, sharing knowledge and troubleshooting together to achieve project goals.

Who They are looking For:

    • Qualifications/Technical Skills:- Proven experience as a Software Engineer with strong PHP skills (Laravel framework is a plus).
      - Familiarity with JavaScript, React, and modern frontend technologies.
      - Experience with MySQL databases and querying.
      - Proficient in working with APIs.
      - Knowledge of Docker and containerised
      applications.
      - Strong understanding of source control best practises (especially GitHub).

Experience Required:

        - 4+ years in a similar role.
        - Agile development experience.
        - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
        - Experience handling PII and working within GDPR guidelines.

Personal Skills:

        • Ability to work collaboratively or self-manage with changing priorities.
        • Strong written communication skills.
        • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
        • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise according to business needs.
