Our client, a leading Internet Service Provider, is on the lookout for a talented Software Engineer to join their vibrant Development in Birmingham on a fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in building a new centralised system that will enhance their business operations.

### Why This Role Exists:The Software Engineer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and testing high-quality software applications. You'll collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders to bring their projects to life and ensure that they meet their business needs effectively.

### Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test robust software applications using PHP and object-oriented programming principles.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practises.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

### What They are Looking For:

- Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a strong grasp of PHP and object-oriented programming (Laravel is a plus).

- Familiarity with JavaScript, React, and modern frontend technologies.

- Experience with MySQL databases and querying.

- Knowledge of working with APIs and containerized applications (Docker).

- Clear understanding of source control best practises (especially GitHub).

Experience:

- 4+ years in a similar role.

- Agile development experience and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of handling PII and working within GDPR.

  • Ability to thrive in a team or self-manage with changing priorities.
  • Strong written communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
