Hays Education are supporting a local Special Needs school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start working with them as soon as possible. This role is to cover a vacancy and will continue till the end of the spring term and possibly beyond. The successful temporary candidate would be welcome to apply for the permanent role.
- The school is located in east Birmingham, not far from the city centre, and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos
- Caters for children at KS2 and KS3 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH)
- The role entails supporting primary aged pupils in class who have SEMH and some other additional s
- School will support with training to candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings
- The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and SEMH
- You will be able to demonstrate the key competencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques
- Hays Education will be able to obtain recent satisfactory references that reflect this experience
- The school is able to offer Team Teach all new members of staff currently in post and look forward to welcoming a new addition to the team.
