Hays Education are supporting a local Special Needs school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start working with them as soon as possible. This role is to support a pupil on a one-to-one basis and will continue till Easter and possibly beyond. The details are as follows:

  • The school is located in south Birmingham, approx. 20 minutes from the city centre and describes themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos
  • It caters for children at KS4 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH)
  • The role entails supporting a year 11 pupil on a one-to-one basis
  • Support will include helping the pupil with GCSE revision and also supporting them in some of their timetable which includes vocational classes
  • The role is every Monday Tuesday from now till Easter and possibly beyond
  • The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with SEMH and ADHD
  • You will be able to demonstrate the key competencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques
  • Hays Education will be able to obtain recent satisfactory references that reflect this experience
