About the Role
Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 child with Autism (ASD) who has an EHCP in place. This role is based in a welcoming primary school in Kings Norton (B38) and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the child's educational journey. The position is offered on a long-term basis, with the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their needs.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets.
* Support emotional regulation and engagement with learning through structured routines and positive reinforcement.
* Use Team Teach strategies to manage behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive environment (desirable but not essential).
* Foster social interaction and communication skills through tailored activities.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASD), ideally in a primary school setting.
* Knowledge of EHCPs and experience implementing individual support plans.
* Team Teach training (desirable) or willingness to undertake behaviour management training.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting SEN pupils.
