SEN Teaching Assistant - Full time / Long term / Immediate start!

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with children who have a range of needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges. You will play a key role in supporting these students, ensuring they are able to access the curriculum and feel engaged and motivated in their learning. Working alongside a class teacher, you will be responsible for providing additional support to some of the more challenging students, helping to manage their behaviour, and ensuring that they have the tools they need to thrive in the classroom.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about special educational needs and is committed to helping students achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SEN and experience working with children who have emotional and behavioural needs. You must also be adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children with a range of SEN, including those with emotional and behavioural needs
- Assisting the class teacher with delivering tailored support and individual learning plans
- Helping to manage behaviour in the classroom and supporting the emotional well-being of students
- Providing one-on-one or small group support as needed, ensuring every child receives the attention they need
- Building strong relationships with students and staff to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Ensuring the students are actively engaged and encouraged to develop confidence and independence
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare or related field
- Current DBS on the Update Service
- Proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with emotional and behavioural needs
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies, approaches, and behaviour management techniques
- Available to start ASAP and work full-time, long-term
