Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in the Edgbaston area. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for supporting children with SEN, offering a chance to make a real difference in their academic and social development. This long-term opportunity has the potential to transition into a permanent position for the ideal candidate.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, using tailored strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Facilitate small group sessions designed to encourage engagement, social interaction, and collaborative learning for SEN pupils.
  • Promote active participation in classroom activities, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Deliver focused interventions to support pupils' personal development, enhance their confidence, and promote their overall wellbeing in the school setting.

What we are looking for:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a relevant degree.
  • Previous experience working within a primary school environment.
  • Additional training such as TeamTeach or Positive Behaviour Management is highly advantageous.
  • Strong skills in managing challenging behaviours, supported by a thorough understanding of effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Hands-on experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
