Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and caring individual to join our team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children and has a genuine commitment to supporting the learning and development of students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support individual students or small groups with special educational needs in a variety of classroom settings.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with specific learning, social, emotional, or physical needs.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment by promoting positive behavior and building strong relationships with students.
  • Support the class teacher in monitoring and tracking student progress and provide feedback on development.
  • Assist with any additional duties related to student care and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members, including SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), to implement personalized learning plans.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or SEN setting.
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with special educational needs.
  • A patient, caring, and positive attitude, with a commitment to making a difference in students' lives.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and/or a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or similar) is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
