ABC Teachers is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Lesson Support Assistant to work in a broad-spectrum SEN (Special Educational Needs) setting. This role involves supporting students with diverse additional needs across various subjects and age groups.

As a Lesson Support Assistant, you will:

• Assist in the delivery of lessons, adapting materials to meet individual needs.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support as directed by teaching staff.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students’ social and emotional development.
• Work closely with teachers to prepare resources and maintain classroom organization.

We work with a range of SEND schools and Alternative Provision settings across Birmingham, each dedicated to helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. These schools cater to a variety of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

The ideal Lesson Support Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs, preferably in an educational setting.
• Confidence and compassion in providing personal care where necessary.
• Strong behavior management skills and a patient, child-centered approach.
• A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
