Aspire People are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to work 3 days a week , with a primary school in Southeast Birmingham. This role is to start ASAP !For the right candidate it has the potential of becoming a permanent role .This role is also a non class based role.You will need to have the desire to create a safe and nurturing learning experience for all children?Strategic development of the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEN pupil achievementThe responsibility and key tasks of this role are the following :* Put provision in place to ensure that progress of pupils with SEN improves * Ensure that the school carries out its statutory responsibilities regarding all students with SEN needs* A Statement of Special Educational Needs.* Support all staff in understanding the needs of SEN pupils.* Support departmental developments of SEN provision.* Monitor progress towards targets for pupils with SEN.* Analyse and interpret relevant school, local and national data.* Liaise with staff, parents, external agencies and other schools to co-ordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of provision.* Work with staff to develop effective ways of bridging barriers to learning * Collect and interpret specialist assessment data to inform practice.* Undertake day-to-day co-ordination of SEN pupil's provisions through close liaison with staff, parents and external agencies.* Work with head teachers, teachers, key stage co-ordinates and pastoral staff to ensure all pupils learning is of equal importance and that there are high and realistic expectations of pupils.* Lead on the performance management process for SEN teachers and Support Assistants;* Advise on and contribute to the professional development of staff, including whole school* Maintain and develop resources, co-ordinate their deployment and monitor theireffectiveness in meeting the objectives of school and SEN policies;* Work with external agencies to maximise resources made available.Do you have the desire to create a safe and nurturing learning experience for all children???* Have you got the drive, creativity and personality to make a difference for our children?The ideal candidate will need the follow to apply for this role :* Have SEN experience and/or the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination* Have an excellent understanding of the SEN code of practice* Have both an excellent understanding of pupil progress and a willingness to embrace change* Be open to new approaches to learning and teaching* Be an excellent team playerIf this sounds like an opportunity you have the right qualification and passion for please send your CV to Julia at Aspire People to day Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
