Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Teacher to join the dynamic team at our partnered school. This role is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the potential to become a permanent member of staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with complex needs, utilising Makaton, and implementing scaffolding learning techniques to support and enhance the educational experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students with complex learning needs.
- Utilise Makaton to support communication and learning.
- Implement scaffolding strategies to ensure students can access the curriculum and make progress.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching students with SEND, particularly those with complex needs.
- Proficiency in Makaton and its application in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of scaffolding learning techniques and how to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with the school community.
