Whilst our packages of care and support plans are designed to meet each person’s needs, the 24hr care provided by the Onsite team is also supported by the central outreach team who can offer additional and timely support when required e.g. OT, SLT, Psychology & Psychiatry. As an organization our highly skilled teams of professionals constantly reflect and review on their practice enabling the team to be consistent in the delivery of quality care. We utilise evidence- based practice to guide and define innovative care packages.
We are looking for candidates trained in British Sign Language (BSL).
This can be on a full time (40 hours, alternate weekends), part time or bank contract but all candidates must be able to work 12 hour shifts, 08:00 - 20:00.
Ideally you will also have experience of working with either challenging behaviour, learning disabilities or mental health.
Main function of the job:-
To provide care in accordance with best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and government regulations under the direction of the line manager.
Main duties of the role:-
- Ensure that service user rights are protected.
- Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health and safety of service users at all times.
- Assist service users individually as required to support them with daily routines and activities.
- Observing service users to ensure a safe environment, protecting them from harm.
- Encourage a model of self-care and service user rehabilitation.
- Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise.
- Work in cooperation with members of multi-disciplinary health teams so as to maximise opportunities for service user therapeutic care.
- Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
- Evaluate care plans and standards of care competence.
- Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees.
- Assist in the administration of medication (where necessary)
- Continual personal development to develop oneself and the role.
- In addition to these tasks, employees may at times be asked to carry out other reasonable duties as required by the service or manager.
Personal Specification:-
Must have a minimum of Level 2 training in British Sign Language
