6-month contractLocation: BirminghamHays Recruitment is partnering with a local council to recruit a Technical Officer - Quantitative Surveyor. This newly created role within the Housing team is designed to provide support across various internal teams, including Housing, Legal, Estates, and Planning, as well as external stakeholders such as tenants, solicitors, and surveyors.This position involves working closely with the Planning Department to ensure property plans and records comply with planning permissions, land use regulations, and development goals. You will offer technical advice to support both current and future council projects.In your role, you will leverage your expertise in CAD or GIS software to produce detailed technical drawings, digital maps, and reports. Your skill in analysing site inspections and converting findings into actionable recommendations will be crucial for resolving complex boundary disputes and maintaining accurate property ownership records.Job Summary:

  • Preparing, maintaining, and updating terrier plans and property records to ensure accurate land and property ownership data for council-owned properties.
  • Supporting the Right to Buy process by preparing sale plans and service charge plans for leaseholders while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Investigating and resolving boundary disputes and encroachments through site inspections and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing technical support to housing, legal, and property teams for effective property management and dispute resolution.
  • Working closely with the Planning Department to ensure alignment with planning permissions and regulations for council-owned properties and land.
  • Preparing detailed plans, reports, and technical drawings using CAD or GIS software.Essential Requirements
  • Proficiency in CAD or GIS software for preparing digital property and boundary maps.
  • Experience of preparing terrier plans, valuation plans, and service charge plans.
  • Strong understanding of property laws, boundary regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections and provide technical expertise on boundary disputes and encroachments.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and the Planning Department.
