Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Solder Wave Technician to operate and maintain our Sun East Peak 400 wave soldering machine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating profiles for new jobs, troubleshooting various issues, and performing regular maintenance on the wave machine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as drossing the machine, stripping parts for cleaning, and rebuilding them. Ensure the wave soldering machine operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Filter Maintenance: Remove and clean filters from the solder bath to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Profile Creation: Develop and adjust profiles covering flux ratios and element adjustments to ensure high-quality soldering results.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect soldered boards for quality assurance, identifying and addressing any defects or issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues that arise during the soldering process to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Solder Wave Technician or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of wave soldering processes and equipment, particularly the Sun East Peak 400.
  • Strong understanding of flux ratios, element adjustments, and profile creation.
  • Ability to perform detailed machine maintenance, including drossing, cleaning, and rebuilding parts.
  • Proficient in inspecting soldered boards for quality and identifying defects.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
