A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Surveyor to join their Property and Housing team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority in a housing environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to conduct home health and safety surveys across for the client, ensuring compliance with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Conducting health and safety surveys on a selected list of properties, ensuring each survey meets compliance standards.
- Identifying potential hazards within the properties and documenting findings for further action.
- Engaging with tenants to arrange and carry out property visits.
- Providing detailed reports on the condition of each property, referring issues to the relevant team for necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Completing at least 100 property surveys within 8-10 weeks to meet board meeting deadlines.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require the following essential qualifications:
- Must hold a valid HHSRS qualification.
- Proven experience in residential health and safety inspections, ideally within a local authority or housing association.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Strong organisational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for effective tenant interactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team when necessary.
- Comfortable with travelling to multiple properties and working from different locations.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering 25 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. 20 per hour PAYE).
