Reed Finance are pleased to supporting a successful SME business who are in need of a new Head of Finance to manage the finance function and help drive growth and profitability.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivery in a fast paced environment where leadership, business partnering and relationship building are key factors. You will ideally be adept in achieving the balance between the need to remain focussed on the long term vision while balancing near term priorities.
Reporting into the owner and founder, a few key responsibilities include:
Drive commercial awareness across the business and assist strategic decision making with insightful financial analysis
Full responsibility for financial management across the business - management and financial, accounting, forecasting and planning.
Lead and improve the business planning cycle in the business - budgeting, quarterly forecasting etc. Ensure financial planning is fully integrated into business processes
Manage and develop the team, providing leadership, guidance and challenge to drive improvement in both operational performance and engagement.
Manage the audit relationship, deliverables and review of statutory accounts.
Support and work closely with the MD/owner in the strategic decisions and direction of the business as well as the overall monitoring of performance and growth
A few requirements in order to be considered:
You will be a fully qualified accountant or equivalent with substantial senior level experience
Commercial mindset with credibility and track record of operating at this levelProven leadership skills both within and outside of finance, with the ability to be hands on where necessary
Experience within an SME business previously will be helpful
Previous experience working within group operations will be beneficial
The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator with passion and enthusiasm to grow a business. Similar experience within a growing SME would be very advantageous as well as proven experience of growing a business.
