The role:

The purpose of the role will be to provide an effective hygiene management system, to ensure full compliance with relevant legal and Company standards. The incumbent will ensure that all aspects of hygiene within the site are satisfactorily maintained and that environmental microbiological standards and performance is monitored.

Key responsabilities:

  • Ensure that production areas and equipment can be released, so that they can be cleaned to the highest standards whilst minimising downtime.
  • Work with the hygiene chemical provider and other cleaning experts to introduce levels of best practice to site
  • Ensure that a comprehensive cleaning plan is in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Carry out internal and external audits.
  • Conduct visual inspections and hygiene swabs of environment and equipment.
  • Investigate and take the necessary corrective actions of any out of specification environmental micro results.
  • Control key contracts; including laundry, chemical supply, consumables, PEE and waste
  • Maintain and enforce Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to ensure performance is constantly challenged and improved
  • Control hygiene budget
  • Maintain cleaning standards, records, and procedures in a state compliant to BRC and other relevant audit standards

The ideal candidate will have:

  • You will possess senior hygiene team leading or management experience, have good knowledge of food safety requirements and hygiene related qualifications i.e. COSHH, IOSH
  • Good PC skills including Office package
  • Trained in pest awareness
  • Experience of managing budgets
