About the Role

The main purpose of a tutor is to ensure the effective learning of their pupil being taught. All tutors are allocated a 1:1 pupil who they are responsible for providing effective pastoral care, to support their social and emotional progress as well as their learning.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establishing a safe and stimulating environment for pupils.

Setting goals that stretch and challenge ALL pupils.

Being accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of the pupil you teach.

Guiding your pupil to reflect on the progress they have made.

Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how pupils learn.

To report and record pupil's attainment.

Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge.

Staff may be asked to undertake occasional other, reasonable tasks at the request of their line manager

My client is committed to the safeguarding of children and all teachers are required to understand and follow any safeguarding policies and procedures that are in place

Qualifications

Minimum education standard to A-level or equivalent

Experience

Some experience in planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating lessons

Experience in working with pupils who have SEMH
