Project/NPI Engineer – Up to £60,000 + Benefits

Situation:

We are recruiting for a bespoke engineering solutions business based in Concett, County Durham. Specializing in architectural glass, security glass, and transport glass, They are experts in their sector and trusted globally to provide high quality, bespoke, UK manufactured products.

They are a growing challenger within this sector and are targeting market share from their larger competitors. With growth targets comes opportunity to progress and develop. The progression and development of internal staff is at the forefront of the senior leadership’s plans.

Opportunity:

The role of the NPI Engineer/ Project Engineer is to design and develop new glass products in line with customer requirements.

This could be for a new build train or following damage caused in service. Some of these vehicles could be very old where the OEM is no longer trading. They will do this by preparing complete and accurate designs from a rough or detailed customer specification followed by creating a Polycarbonate model.

  • Opportunity to work for the fastest growing glass specialist in the region.
  • Development and progression into senior engineer and even engineering manager in the future.
  • 6 Month training/ induction programme as all products are bespoke.
  • Learn to become a specialist in glass manufacture
  • Hands on crafting position

Essential Criteria To Secure An Interview:

  • Technical Mechanical Engineer who has worked within a sheeting environment. Metal sheeting, Glass, Polymers etc.
  • Design Experience- Solid Works, Catia, Auto CAD.
  • 60% of the role will be on the shop floor on a trial-and-error basis. Candidates need to be aware and happy with this.
  • Worked within a Project Engineering environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information to internal and external stakeholders.

Salary & Package:

  • Up to £60,000
  • Extensive benefit package
  • Monday to Friday. 1 day a week from option of WFH.
