Job Title: Casework Support Officer
Location: Blaby (Office-based)
Salary: £26,000 - £31,000 (Pro-rata)
Hours of Work: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Part-time (4 days per week - Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri)

 

We are hiring for a Casework Support Officer to join in Blaby. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a political and public service environment where you will support with casework and enquiries. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about bettering the community and has a strong sense of empathy.

 

Duties of a Casework Support Officer

In this role, you will be working within the team to support and handle casework matters. You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with surgeries and other meetings, including follow-ups
  • Analysing enquiry patterns and articulating findings in reports and communications
  • Handling a high volume of standard queries and assisting with complex cases via phone, email, social media, or face-to-face interactions
  • Drafting responses to constituents and ensuring timely, sensitive, and accurate case resolution
  • Managing confidential records in line with data protection legislation
  • Monitoring and responding to social media queries and comments
  • Gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases
  • Logging all cases, tracking progress, and ensuring actions are completed
  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of occasional events
  • Occasionally travelling for work (travel expenses covered)

 

Skills and Experience of a Casework Support Officer

To succeed in this role, you should have experience with:

  • Handling casework, customer service, or public-facing roles
  • Managing and resolving enquiries in a professional manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft responses
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

It would be beneficial if you also had:

  • Knowledge of data protection legislation and confidentiality handling
  • Proficiency in social media communication and engagement
  • Any experience with handling casework
