Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting a new role of Management Accountant for a rapidly growing international retail business based in the Northwest. The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will have a wide remit of responsibilities ranging from transactional through to commercial finance duties.
Further duties and responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are prepared on a monthly basis, and that all balances are correct and differences investigated.
- Production and posting of key journals including accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income.
- Support the commercial finance team with information and performance analysis to assist decision making for local teams.
- Develop robust processes and controls to ensure risks are managed appropriately in line with Group requirements.
- Assist in the production of accurate monthly and quarterly flash results for Financial Planning and Commercial teams.
- Assisting in year-end statutory audit process.
- Other ad hoc projects as required by Finance Director or Financial Controller.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register and ensure timely postings on acquisition/disposal of assets.
- Work with Transaction Services (AP/AR/Banking) to facilitate a smooth month-end process.
- Support variance and trend analysis by site, by GL line item.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA or a part-qualified accountant qualified by experience
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Experienced in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities

- Team player
Salary & Benefits
In return, the successful Management Accountant will receive the following:
Indicative renumeration:
- Base starting salary: £38,000 to £48,000 (DOE)
- Discretionary annual bonus plan
- Contributory pension scheme with contributions starting from 3%
