Your new companyI am working with a leading company in the manufacturing industry, based in Blackburn which is starting to grow considerably, following a successful few years. Due to this growth, they are expanding their current finance team and now require an Assistant Accountant to join them permanently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic team. Your new roleAs an Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance Director, taking full control of bookkeeping and updating financial reports. Your responsibilities will include dealing with supplier queries, negotiating prices and terms, processing purchase and sales orders, and managing credit control. You will also be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register, preparing monthly management packs, and completing quarterly VAT returns. Additionally, you will manage ledgers, handle accruals and prepayments, and provide financial support as needed. This is a full time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, with an optional early Friday finish.

What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will need at least three years of experience in an accounts role and an AAT qualification (or equivalent). Proficiency in Sage 50 or 200 and Excel is essential. You should be organised, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is crucial.
