Blackburn area

Umbrella / Ltd rate: £24.00 - £25.00p/h

PAYE rate: £20.75p/h - £21.55p/h PAYE (incl. holiday pay)

I am working with a key Aerospace client in the Blackburn area who are looking for Skilled Aircraft Assembly Fitters, to work on the build of composite and aluminium structural assemblies for the aerospace sector.

As Aircraft Fitter, you will require to conduct the following duties:

  • Ability to read complex engineering drawings to tight tolerances
  • Use hand tools, setting up bench jigs
  • Assemble, fit all aspects mechanically, structure & body etc
  • Working with composite materials and aluminium
  • Work to production plans and timescales

The Aircraft Fitte,r will need to have the following attributes:

  • Aerospace time served/NVQ L3, or min. NVQ L2 in aircraft fitting and/or light fabrication/sheet metal
  • Good workshop body/structure fitting experience
  • Aerospace industry preferred – ability to read/interpret aerospace drawings
  • A strong team player
  • Experience within a high precision manufacturing environment with composite materials experience ideally
  • Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality
  • Ideally supply your own tools including drills, countersinks, rivet guns etc
