Ideal Recruit are currently looking for a bookkeeper to join our client’s team in Blackburn. You will be responsible for recording and maintaining financial transactions, such as purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure that all accounts are balanced.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in accounts and prepare adjustments.
  • Prepare and issue invoices to customers and ensure timely payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Transferring data from sage 200 to QuickBooks.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor budget performance and report variances to management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Process and monitor employee expense reports.
  • Ensure that all expenses are properly documented and authorised.
  • Use accounting software to record, store, and analyse financial data.

Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping experience.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
