A long established construction company are looking to appoint a Buyer who will oversee the procurement and management of materials, equipment, and services for all construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure construction materials, equipment
  • Negotiate supplier contracts for best pricing, terms, and delivery.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and ensure material quality and compliance.
  • Review and process purchase orders, ensuring that all materials meet project specifications and deadlines.
  • Co-ordinate with commercial team over procurement of sub-contract services
  • Track inventory, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Coordinate logistics, ensuring timely and efficient material delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and safety regulations.
  • Assist in managing and reporting on supply chain costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment purchased meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
  • Working with Estimating team to update costs and taking off materials resources from tender specifications and inputting them into software an resource libraries
  • Work with Site teams to align supply needs with schedules.
  • Review timesheets and manage PPE distribution for employees.

Experience required:

  • Experience in construction procurement and supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and budget management skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
