Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Deptford, London
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Benefits (Depending on Experience)

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 property services contractor based in Deptford. In this role, you will take charge of overseeing planned maintenance works on social housing properties, ensuring effective cost management, project efficiency, and the highest quality standards.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for controlling costs, minimising expenditure, and ensuring value for money, all while maintaining a high level of service. You will liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams, providing regular updates on budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the financial aspects of planned maintenance projects on social housing properties.
  • Preparing tender documents, contracts, budgets, and cost plans.
  • Overseeing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conducting valuations, handling variations, and final accounts.
  • Delivering accurate financial reports to senior management and clients.
  • Ensuring all contractual obligations and company policies are met.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors in the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing or planned maintenance sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications (RICS, BSc Quantity Surveying, or equivalent) preferred.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
