Job Title: Catering Manager (Primary School)

Location: Blackburn

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Catering Manager for a Primary School in Blackburn. This term time position will involve leading the kitchen team, overseeing meal planning, food preparation, and staff management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the kitchen team to provide high-quality, nutritious meals, meeting government nutrition standards.
  • Plan, prepare, and cater to various dietary needs while maintaining a 5-star kitchen standard.
  • Oversee catering budget, stock management, and supplier contracts for cost-effective meal provision.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, allergen, and food hygiene regulations.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a catering/kitchen management role, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills, including training and performance management.
  • Knowledge of food safety policies, health and safety regulations, and allergen requirements.
  • Ability to work within a team, maintain high morale, and ensure a smooth kitchen operation.

The position is working 30 hours a week (8am-2pm) Monday to Friday during term time, Grade D Point 5 £24,790 - £25,992 pro rata.

The position will be on an agency contract to begin with but will move across to a contract directly with the Primary School after an initial period.
