Reed Education/Lancashire Teaching Agency are seeking a dedicated SENTeaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child on the autism spectrum. The child is a sensory-seeking year 4 student working on the year 1 curriculum. Relies heavily on verbal prompts and is on the early stages of independence.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in students’ lives and thrives in a supportive educational environment. The role is required for 5 days per week between 13:00 – 15:30 on Mondays to Thursdays and 12:45-15:30 on Fridays. The role is to start ASAP and is expected to run on an ongoing period.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to students, ensuring their educational and social development.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of individual learning activities.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to monitor the student’s progress.
  • Implement strategies to support the student’s learning and engagement.
  • Facilitate a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Adapt to the student’s needs and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • TA2-A3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing support within an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding practices.
