The Business 

This client is a well established manufacturer selling on a B2B basis to industrial distributors and contractors across the UK. We are recognised for speed of delivery,  accuracy and product knowledge, providing a consultative offering to clients who would often be selling the  products alongside a vast range of other items and would normally need help with application  recommendation. Sales to contractors are on a project basis and require a different sales approach to the  distributor model. 

Role 

As Sales Support, you will play a pivotal role in our sales team, responsible for managing enquiries that the  sales team secure, assessing project requirements, creating costed solutions, crafting responses, and  nurturing client relationships. This will include extensively working with construction drawings, spreadsheets and documents to manage the project requirements, including creating simple take-offs, cut lists and bill of materials. This position offers extensive training in all aspects of our company's products and processes.  

A Typical Day: 

You will be the face of the internal sales department so you will ensure customer enquiries are handled  promptly and processed according to the procedures, and work closely with the BDM’s to ensure they are  freed up from as many tasks as possible. Once an order is received you would ensure it is handed over to the  operations team with all relevant information, including schedules, cut lists, to ensure it can be fulfilled  accurately. A key part of the role will be to update and manage the pipeline and sales systems, to ensure that the  opportunity data is accurate and up to date, allowing it to be used for the weekly sales meeting and sales management. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  •  Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately understand project requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive cost analyses. 
  • Collaborate with team members to develop precise estimates and proposals. 
  •  Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. 
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Actively engage in meetings with clients to gather project requirements and promote our products. 
  • Build strong relationships with contractors. 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of estimates and project details. 
  • Log and maintain customer and lead information in the CRM database. 
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders to meet customer needs.
  • Communicate efficiently with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. 
  • Take ownership of the pipeline and sales systems. 

Working Hours: Monday- Friday 08:00am - 17:00pm
