Are you an experienced Finance Officer looking to grow your career within a dynamic FMCG company? We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our clients finance team in Blackpool. This newly created role provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the company's financial operations while receiving investment in your professional development.

What will your day look like?

  • Invoice management: including processing and reconciliation.
  • Credit control: ensuring timely payments and managing outstanding debts.
  • Financial reporting: collating and delivering financial reports for the Directors and Senior Management Team on a monthly basis.
  • Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
  • Bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
  • VAT returns: preparing and submitting VAT returns, staying up to date on relevant tax regulations.
  • Supplier relations: processing purchase ledger invoices and managing supplier payments.
  • Cash flow monitoring: reporting on the financial health and advising on improvements.
  • Supporting Payroll: handling queries and acting as a liaison to ensuring all information is accurate.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including auditors and suppliers.
  • Supporting the Management Accountant and wider finance function.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.

Is this you?

You'll ideally have proven experience as a Finance Officer or similar role for a minimum of a couple of years. You'll also need a strong understanding of financial processes, bookkeeping, and reporting with proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

As credit control and supporting payroll is a part of this role, you must be comfortable handing and chasing overdue payments and debt recovery as and when necessary and have an understanding of payroll processes.

It's essential you have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement to support the team and wider business for the long term.
