Led by an experienced senior management team who have achieved consistent year on year growth, an impending retirement has now prompted the opportunity to strengthen the accounts department by recruiting their first Financial Controller. This new role will work closely with the Directors and carry responsibility for all the day to day accounting needs of the business whilst also improving controls and driving deeper analysis of sales, profitability and operational costs. They have recently introduced a new ERP system (similar to SAP) and are keen to appoint someone who can improve the flow of management information across all departments. Supervising a small team your main responsibilities as Financial Controller will be:
• Managing internal controls and financial processes;• Inventory control, updating costs, stock counts, valuations etc;• Cashflow forecasting and managing working capital• Preparing annual budget and departmental forecasts• Monthly preparation of management accounts• Supporting CAPEX processes and investment appraisals• Ongoing control of costs and overheads• Sales and profitability analysis• Monthly VAT returns, PAYE and HMR liaison• Preparing the year end accounts and audit files
Level of knowledge and experience:
• Previous experience of a financial management or senior management accountant level role• CIMA / ACCA or ACA qualified although strong QBE applicants will also be considered.• Technically proficient with MS Office products, particularly Excel• Comfortable using different business management software, ideally ERP• Previous experience of working in the manufacturing and supply sector would be ideal
