The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with teachers to provide essential support to students across various age groups and abilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the educational success and well-being of children in Blackpool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of the class teacher to implement agreed learning activities and support plans for individual students and small groups.
  • Provide targeted support to students who may have learning difficulties, special educational needs (SEN), or require additional assistance to access the curriculum.
  • Help to create a stimulating and safe learning environment by preparing resources and assisting with classroom management.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students, promoting their confidence and independence.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to the monitoring of student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals as required.
  • Supervise students during lessons, break times, and other school activities.
  • Undertake relevant training and professional development as required.
  • Be aware of and adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and child protection.

About You:

  • Must hold a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children in an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the learning needs of all students..
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding principles and practices.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN.
  • Knowledge of specific learning strategies and interventions.
  • First Aid certification.
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate on the update service.

Location: Blackpool, Lancashire

Contract Type: Full Time

Salary: Permament upwards of £27k + SEN allowance.

Start Date: September 2025.
