An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement professional to join a rapidly growing organisation as Group Head of Procurement. This senior leadership role will be pivotal in shaping and executing a group-wide procurement strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment across multiple business units.

The Role:Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Group Head of Procurement will lead the procurement function, overseeing supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement operations. The role will require strong leadership, analytical skills, and commercial acumen to drive value, mitigate risks, and enhance operational effectiveness. Travel to sites across the Fylde Coast and Manchester will be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic procurement framework to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.

  • Align procurement policies and practices with long-term business objectives.

  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating competitive terms and ensuring performance excellence.

  • Conduct supplier evaluations, risk assessments, and performance reviews to optimise procurement decisions.

  • Oversee procurement budgets, ensuring financial prudence and value maximisation.

  • Lead contract negotiations, managing high-value agreements with strategic suppliers.

  • Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and economic factors to inform procurement strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, governance frameworks, and industry best practices.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including procurement digitisation and supply chain optimisation.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team across multiple locations.

  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and senior leadership to align procurement objectives with wider business goals.

Candidate Profile:

  • 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.

  • Proven track record of managing large procurement budgets and delivering measurable cost savings.

  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.

  • Experience in global sourcing, risk management, and procurement digitisation.

  • Proficiency in procurement software (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, etc.).

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or CSCP are highly desirable.
