Introduction

Butler Rose is delighted to be working with a dynamic large organisation who are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their busy, friendly team based in the Blackpool area. This is an ideal role for an experienced payroll candidate possessing solid payroll processing experience running high volume payrolls, ready to expand their career horizons delivering a full end to end payroll service at the highest level within a friendly and supportive team environment. If you possess full end to end payroll processing experience dealing with high volume payrolls and are ready to take the next step in your career, then read on. Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team processing full end to end payroll services at multiple intervals
  • Dealing with starters/leavers
  • HMRC liaison
  • Processing pensions/auto enrolment
  • Overseeing/supervising junior team members in the successful delivery of payroll processes.
  • Working to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely production of high volume payrolls and all associated deductions
  • Provide and maintain comprehensive audit trails for internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and ensure payroll records are maintained/completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Update and maintain the payroll systems
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and actively promote health, safety and -well-being of the team
  • Pursue the achievement/integration of equality, diversity and inclusion to promote positive behaviours across the company
  • Proactive in identifying and pursing opportunities to enhance your own professional development, positively engage in performance reviews and any relevant training
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of information and data at all times

Person specification

  • Previous experience within a similar role undertaking multiple interval UK payroll processing within a fast moving environment
  • Good attention to detail and time management
  • Able to delegate duties and supervise team members
  • Exceptional team working skills
  • Proactive and innovative approach to resolving payroll queries
  • Friendly and professional communication skills both over the telephone and in writing
