Job Summary:

Be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist clinical psychology service to clients within a designated area of responsibility.

Supervise and support psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.

Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the designated area of responsibility.

Utilise research skills, audit, policy and service development and research and implement policy changes within the areas served by the team/service in agreement with the relevant manager.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology (HCPC) registered and practicing.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a qualified clinical psychologist, handling diverse client groups with a range of clinical issues, maintaining professionalism under distressing conditions.
  • Proven experience in clinical responsibility, multidisciplinary care, teaching, training, supervision, and conducting complex audits/research and service evaluations.
  • Proficient in complex psychological assessment, intervention, and management, with strong communication skills for conveying technical and sensitive information to various stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge in research methodology, legislation related to mental health, and continuous professional development, including formal training in supervision and adequate keyboard skills for data entry and report writing.
