About the Role:

As the pastoral care coordinator, you will be instrumental in supporting the personal and social development of our students. You will work closely with students, parents/guardians, teachers, and external agencies to address pastoral concerns, promote positive behaviour, and ensure students have the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities (adapt based on the specific role):

  • For a Pastoral Care Coordinator:

    • Supporting the overall strategic direction and implementation of the school's pastoral care provision.
    • Developing and reviewing pastoral care policies and procedures.
    • Providing training and support to staff on pastoral care matters.
    • Coordinating the work of the pastoral care team.
    • Liaising with external agencies and community resources.
    • Monitoring the effectiveness of pastoral interventions and initiatives.

  • A relevant qualification in or significant experience in a pastoral role within a school or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and development of young people.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including record-keeping.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures in England.
  • Knowledge of relevant support services and external agencies.
  • Empathy, patience, and a solution-focused approach.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
