Manual Machinist

Are you a strong Manual Machinist with experience first line Mechanical Maintenance?Yolk recruitment is working exclusively with a SME Manufacturer in Blackwood who have been established for over 40 years. Trusted by thousands of customers across the globe they are proud to provide a product range which is driven by quality.This is what you'll be doing.As the Manual Machinist you'll be working a 2 shift pattern Monday to Friday, reporting into the Engineering Manager to ensure the successful delivery of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) System which will include the following:

  • Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, boring machines.
  • Use hand tools and power tools.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Providing first line maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Responsible for creation and repair of spare parts utilising machining techniques in tool steel, nylon and mild steel.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical fitting routines with at least 2 years of experience.

As the Manual Machinist experience, you'll bring to the team.

  • It is essential that the successful applicant is a time-served, apprentice trained machinist/Toolmaker, who is passionate about wanting to transform operational efficiencies.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels, both within the organisation and with suppliers.
  • Able to work as a constructive member of a team, and have strong sense of responsibility
  • Proven ability to be able to work well and deliver results, even in times of pressure.
