Saturday Sales Assistant

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED
If you have previous experience working at a Builders Merchants, then great. If not, don’t worry the company will provide full training and support. However, you will need excellent customer service skills, a helpful and friendly manner, comfortable talking to customers face-to-face, be computer literate and have the ability to move stock around the depot, which includes loading and offloading deliveries.
SALARY: Competitive + Bonus + Generous Benefits
LOCATION: Blanford, Forum, Dorset, South West England
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 0800 - 1200 every Saturday
We would also welcome candidates that have the flexibility to work additional hours in order to cover staff absences, holidays etc. when required
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Saturday Sales Assistant who has excellent customer service and communication skills.
Working as the Saturday Sales Assistant no two days are the same. You will always be busy and at times, it can be challenging. The company can also guarantee that you will be working in a great team with great people and, if you are prepared to work hard, then you will love working with them. Their customers expect great service and the priority is to ensure this happens.
Your strong customer service and communication skills will help you as you deal with customers, helping them in the Yard, loading and unloading lorries as well as serving on the Trade Counter.
The company is looking for a Saturday Sales Assistant who has the drive and desire to learn additional skills and eventually become multi-skilled within all roles at the branch. This knowledge and experience can open up further opportunities in the business.
Experience of working in a similar environment, along with a valid forklift licence would be great but it’s not essential as full training is provided. The company is more interested in your ability to build effective relationships and demonstrate a great attitude towards customer service.
Whilst Saturday will be your main working day, the company would welcome applicants that are open to working additional, flexible hours in order to cover any absence where required.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Saturday Sales Assistant include:
- Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, providing advice and guidance
- Ensure customers are served quickly and efficiently
- Answer telephone calls in a timely and professional manner
- Maximise sales opportunities by building relationships with customers
- Provide accurate pricing information to customers.
- Load and unload customer, supplier, and company vehicles
- Accurately pick orders for delivery
- Check goods against supplier delivery notes
- Actively participate in stock control and merchandising
- Use machinery and mechanical handling equipment as necessary (full training will be provided)
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work Saturdays
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate
- Has the ability to move stock around the yard, load and offload deliveries
