Quantity Surveyor / Estimator| Ringwood | Full Tine | £48,000 - £52,000 per annum

 

Our client provides world-class construction, restoration and fit-out to an extensive list of clients, from household names such as Santander, Nationwide and Costa Coffee, to specialist high-end restoration projects.

 

They are looking for a customer focused, self-motivated individual, with proven working industry knowledge who is able to demonstrate a sound understanding of how the refurbishment sector works.

 

The role will involve the preparation and submission of quotations, tender bids, sub-contract buying, preparing of monthly valuations and final account settlements. Typically projects range in size from £10,000 to £2,000,000.

 

Are you the right person for the job?

 

  • Driving Licence is essential
  • Confidence and self-motivation and be commercially astute
  • Have excellent organisation & computer skills
  • Strong knowledge of cost control methodologies and practices within the construction industry
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator is preferred
    • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

 

What will your role look like?

 

  • Handle sub-contract buying and procurement of materials, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and timely delivery
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed bills of quantities for projects
    • Monitor project budgets, costs, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion
    • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather relevant information and manage procurement
    • Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project progress and costs
    • Provide expert advice on cost control, value engineering, and risk management
    • Preparing and submitting quotations and tender bids
    • Managing final account settlements
