We are working with a small yet busy accountancy firm who are looking for additional support from a Bookkeeper on a part-time basis. With offices to the West of Newcastle Upon Tyne this role is offered with flexible hours to suit, working from the office.

Your role:

Supporting the Partner with their portfolio of sole trader and small limited company clients you will be preparing monthly bookkeeping on Xero and ensuring at month end all transactions reconcile and are coded correctly. with accuracy. You will also be helping with the monthly payroll for c30 payrolls, predominantly all small in size on Brightpay. The completion of any VAT returns is also required and preparation of your clients self-assessment tax returns. If you are able to support further with year end statutory accounts that would be helpful but does not need to form part of this role.

Your experience:

  • Practical UK payroll and bookkeeping experience is essential gained from an accountancy firm
  • You will be familiar with using Xero accounting system
  • A working knowledge of Brightpay is desired
  • AAT Part/fully qualified or equivalent
  • Able to work in the office and available between 20- 25 hours each week preferably
  • Good communication skills comfortable with liaising with clients in a customer facing role
  • You must have a valid right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available for this vacancy
