About the Role:
Our client is a well-established food manufacturer seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to join their team. As a growing business they are looking for someone to lead, manage, and oversee the day-to-day operations of their production facility. This position offers a unique opportunity to make an impact on both operational efficiency and staff development within a busy, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily production operations to meet customer expectations
- Effectively allocate resources and optimise asset usage to maximise results
- Oversee product quality, output, and on-time logistics
- Monitor processes and take corrective actions where necessary
- Keep up to date with best practices and production management techniques
- Foster cross-department collaboration, including procurement, distribution, and management
- Manage and develop a team of supervisors and staff (approximately 50 staff across 5 supervisors)
- Collaborate with Directors to implement cost-saving strategies and operational improvements
- Address employee concerns and grievances
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager in the food industry
- Ideally you will have experience of a complex food production
- Demonstrated staff management and development experience
- Knowledge of quality standards and health & safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Hands-on, lead-by-example attitude, with a willingness to jump in and support the team when needed
