Section Engineer - Major Highway Project - Cornwall

Randstad C&P are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major highway project in Cornwall. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a challenging project within a leading construction company.

  • Minimum 4-month contract duration
  • Outside IR35 subject to IR35 assessment


Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage drainage plans and specifications.
  • Conduct material take-offs and prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Engage with the site team for resource requirements.
  • Manage setting out operations utilizing GPS and Total Station technology.
  • Maintain daily documentation and quality assurance checks.
  • Conduct site inspections and safety assessments.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster effective team relationships.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering.
  • Relevant CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certification.

* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.

  • Must be able to obtain a highways passport, or already hold one.

* Must hold a safety critical medical.
