SEN Teacher

We have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teacher to join a secondary school in Bodmin. The role will be based in a mainstream school supporting students with EHCP's and working alongside the school's SENCO.

The ideal candidate would have experience working with SEN, some duties include:

-Support for students with SEND:

-Identify a student’s SEND Support the SENDCO (ARB) co-ordinate, monitor and evaluate provision that meets student needs

-Support the SENDCO (ARB) secure relevant services to support students

-Ensure records (assessment, attendance, behaviour) are maintained and kept up to date

-Review the education, health and care plan with parents/carers and students

-Communicate regularly with parents/carers

-Liaise with the relevant agencies regarding student admissions.

-Work with the SENDCO (ARB) to ensure provision can be met effectively.

-Liaise with the SLT i/c admissions throughout the process.

-Ensure that student transfers are managed effectively Promote inclusion across the College community and access to the curriculum,-facilities and extra-curricular activities

-Line manage the Family Support Worker and help them provide effective support for vulnerable students including children in need, looked after children and those eligible for student premium funding

-To provide intimate care for pupils with medical / care needs

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEN, preferably within a UK setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to continuous professional development.
