Streamline Search are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking family run practice based in West Sussex offering a professional yet supportive working environment. They are seeking to employ an experienced Accountant to join their team.

The right candidate will play a crucial role in this firm's success by ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of accounts, maintaining strong relationships with clients, and identifying opportunities to offer tailored financial advice.

Accountant - Key Responsibilities

Accountant, you can expect the role to involve limited company clients' accounts, tax returns and ad hoc work such as bookkeeping and payroll.

  • Develop good working relationships with clients to advise where applicable and necessary.
  • Preparing financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Managing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Overseeing bookkeeping functions and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Handling payroll processing and assisting with employee tax documentation.
  • Performing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Ad hoc responsibilities involving payroll and bookkeeping when required.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 40-minute lunch break.

Accountant - Position Requirements

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified in a recognized accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, or ACA.
  • A strong understanding of UK accounting standards, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
