Position : Quality Inspector

Location : Bolton, Wigan, Greater Manchester, Lancashire

Sector : Engineering, metals manufacturing, medium - heavy engineering

Salary : 35,000-40,000

Hours : Monday to Friday days regular

The role :

Working in partnership with another Quality Inspector, you will ensure that parts are inspected at goods inwards, in-process, pre-paint and final inspection in-line with deadlines.

You will be methodical and organised, with a good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and an experienced inspector.

Duties

  • Performing Goods Inwards, Pre-Paint and Final Inspections
  • Measuring parts in accordance with engineering drawings using various types of measuring equipment, including external micrometers, 3-legged bore micrometers, stick micrometers, depth micrometers, verniers and gauges
  • Completing dimensional reports / inspection drawings.
  • Visually inspection of parts for weld spatter, damage, burrs, paint quality, part marking etc
  • Completing inspection sign off documentation
  • Stamping parts
  • Carrying out stencilling and paint touch ups - if required
  • Assisting with packing to ensure safe delivery of products

About You

  • GCSE Maths & English
  • Computer Literate, familiar with MS Office Applications
  • Proven experience of working as a Quality Inspector
  • Experience of machining metals e.g. turning, milling etc
  • Experience of measuring parts using micrometers (External / Internal)
  • Experience of reading engineering drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to interact with customers and suppliers. Essential

Working Hours:

39 hour working week.

Monday to Thursday: 06:45 to 15:15

Friday: 06:45 to 14:15
