About the Role
I’m currently supporting my client who is looking a Management Accountant to join their dynamic Finance team. This role is perfect for a team player who excels at building strong relationships with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You will use your expertise and judgement to make informed decisions, resolve issues, and escalate matters, when necessary, all while ensuring the confidentiality and security of the information you handle.
In this role, you will manage a range of financial processes, produce reports for management, and drive improvements in operational efficiency. Particularly, you will play an important role in managing the cost recovery process and will be responsible for producing organisation charges and dealing with external customers to resolve queries to ensure the prompt payment of invoices. You will also provide accurate and timely charging management information to stakeholders to support their decision-making.
Principal Responsibilities
- Regulatory Recoverable Income: Oversee the production and dissemination of monthly/quarterly regulatory recoverable income reports, covering four different income regimes. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and the timely resolution of charging queries.
- Invoicing Process Leadership: Lead and manage invoicing process, ensuring timely and accurate breakdowns and invoices for all areas of regulatory activity.
- Management Information Packs: Produce and analyse monthly days and charges management information packs, providing supporting narrative to help Programme Managers make informed decisions.
- Data Management & Reporting: Lead the transition of charging management data into PowerBI for deeper interrogation and more effective presentation to end users.
- Forecasting & Continuous Improvement: Assist with annual and mid-year charging forecasts, while driving improvements to forecasting processes and data quality.
- Audit Support: Support the production and audits of Annual Report and Accounts in relation to cost recovery, providing necessary documentation and evidence to the audit team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve charging and time-recording issues and continue to strengthen the reputation of the Finance team.
- Process Innovation: Actively identify and implement continuous improvements and innovative practices to streamline charging processes and increase operational efficiency.
- Project Support: Provide expert advice and support for various projects and represent the Finance team in internal and external meetings.
Skills Needed:
- IT Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Oracle SOP.
- Qualification: Fully or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or similar).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret and present both financial and non-financial data and tell a story with numbers.
- Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage a busy and changing workload, delivering on time and to a high standard.
- Collaboration & Influence: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead on tasks and convey information effectively.
