Financial Accountant / Long Established International Organisation / St Helens / Permanent Role / Salary £40,000 – £45,000 + Career Development / Fast Paced Organisation

NC Associates are working exclusively with a long-established international organisation based just outside of St Helens who are looking for a Financial Accountant to help support the Financial Controller and senior management team, this is a newly created role through extensive growth within the business. As Financial Accountant you will help to deliver monthly, quarterly, group and statutory reporting for all UK businesses as well as helping with the delivery of month end, budgets, cashflow forecasts, audits and statutory accounts & tax reporting

Financial Accountant Duties

  • Month end tasks including but not limited to, preparation of accruals and prepayments, issuing exchange rates, revaluation reports, stock reports, opening and closing of ledgers, journal postings
  • Regular financial reports (including actual, forecast and budget), highlighting key metrics and trends
  • Maintaining Fixed Asset Register, including operating leases, additions, disposal, depreciation run and fixed asset validation checks (SOX)
  • Liaise with the group and other departments to provide financial insights
  • Responsibility for the small UK subsidiary companies’ annual budget, revised budget and forecast preparation and submission within strict deadlines
  • Assisting with the main UK company budget process and the production of cash flow forecasts and reporting
  • Comply with risk and control matrixes and internal controls
  • SOX compliance and reporting
  • Play an active role in both external and internal audits to achieve successful outcomes and deliver continuous improvement
  • Propose & implement solutions to any identified risks
  • Regularly review the Finance policies and procedures, ensuring legal and corporate compliance.
  • Prepare payroll change information and ensure payments, deductions and notifications are actioned correctly and on time, including HMRC reporting
  • Prepare salary change letters, monthly payroll journal and annual P11d, PSA and tax award scheme reporting

Financial Accountant Experience Required

  • Part / Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge, would consider someone qualified by experience
  • Proven track record working within a similar role as a Financial Accountant (minimum 5 years)
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting & compliance
  • Knowledge of tax reporting & compliance
  • SAP or similar systems experience
  • Strong IT skills, including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficient Excel skills
