- Manage complex cases involving children in need, child protection, and looked-after children.
- Provide expert guidance, mentoring, and support to social workers within the team.
- Undertake statutory assessments, direct work with families, and safeguarding interventions.
- Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
- Contribute to the development of best practice, supporting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum two years’ post-qualification experience in a statutory children’s social care service.
- Skills: Strong risk assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of child protection legislation, assessment frameworks, and best practices.
- Other Requirements: Ability to travel across Sefton and flexibility to respond to service demands.
